Bidoun #15 PULP
PULP is a semi-epic, patently incomplete catalog of a body of printed documents with little in common except their exclusion from libraries, archives and (official) culture and history. The issue was preceeded by a trip to the basements and bookstores of Beirut, the spoils of which were paired with selections from my own archive and a few other private collections for a series of textual still-lives which appear throughout the issue.
In addition to these I directed a beach-reading fashion story centered around the american-arab romance novels and along with Ahmet Ögüt and Serkan Taycan, a series of photos documenting the poems and sayings Turkish truck drivers publish on the backs of their rigs.
