Producing imagery for an issue with a theme as ambigous as Noise was an uneasy breif. How does one illustrate dissonance, interference, accident and discontinouty without being... illustrative?

Our strategy was through process — underlining the theme of 'Noise' by producing the issue's imagery comletely independent from its editorial content — meaning the pictures would have nothing to do with the words.

Without any reasonable constraints the specifics became purely a question of economy and procedure; what kind of high-quality 'magazine' imagery could we produce without having to answer any questions or pay anyone involved? Being based in New York City the answer was fashion, fine art and celebrity photography.
